Two trucks collide in Northern Louisiana, killing man

Four people suffered injuries and one man was killed in a Bossier City accident that occurred on Oct. 31. According to authorities, the crash occurred around midnight, when two pickup trucks collided at the intersection of Sligo Road and Highway 71.

One truck, traveling west, was driven by a 23-year-old man and carried three passengers. The other pickup truck, heading north, was operated by a 17-year-old driver.

According to the Bossier City Police, one of the vehicles failed to stop at the intersection, though it was not immediately clear which one. On account of the collision, the 23-year-old driver of the westbound pickup truck was killed at the scene. Purportedly, police suspect that he was impaired by alcohol at the time of the wreck.

A 19-year-old Bossier City woman, a 20-year-old Bossier City woman and a 21-year-old Bossier City man were all injured in the accident, and emergency crews transported them to University Health Shreveport, where officials treated them for non-life-threatening injuries. The 17-year-old driver of the northbound vehicle also suffered non-fatal injuries in the wreck, according to officials. She was treated for her injuries at Willis Knighton Pierremont in Shreveport.

Medical bills, lost wages and vehicle repairs associated with a motor vehicle accident can be financially crippling for injured accident victims. Even apparently minor injuries might require multiple doctor visits and costly prescription medication. On account of the many expenses associated with accident-related injuries, many victims contact a personal injury attorney in the wake of an incident like the one in Bossier City on Oct. 31. The lawyer may employ insight, resources and various strategies to help accident victims win financial compensation for their losses via civil action.
