What is the Louisiana lemon law?

Like many other states, Louisiana has a lemon law in place to protect consumers who purchase vehicles in the state. Covered vehicles include passenger and commercial vehicles that require registration, watercraft and all-terrain vehicles, and the drive train and chassis of motor homes that are sold in the state and are still under warranty.

Louisiana head-on collision kills 3

Three men were killed in a head-on collision involving two pickup trucks. The accident took place on Nov. 10 around 6:30 p.m. According to police, a 19-year-old Houma man was speeding on La. 24. The vehicle was traveling in the northbound lane when it encountered an S-curve. The driver lost control in the curve and crossed the median, and his vehicle flipped.

How the LHWCA applies to Louisiana workers

Longshore and harbor workers in Louisiana may benefit from understanding the workers' compensation laws that apply to their position. Two trucks collide in Northern Louisiana, killing man

Four people suffered injuries and one man was killed in a Bossier City accident that occurred on Oct. 31. According to authorities, the crash occurred around midnight, when two pickup trucks collided at the intersection of Sligo Road and Highway 71.

Spray can alleged cause of fatal Louisiana refuse truck accident

A 57-year-old safety truck driver from New Orleans was killed on Nov. 3 in Mandeville. His truck plunged off the side of the southbound span of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge. His truck was on the bridge to protect a roadwork convoy from accidents. It is specially designed to withstand impacts.

Levee authority reaches $50,000 settlement with 2 companies

On Oct. 31, a settlement was reached between the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East and two oil companies from Houston. The oil companies had previously been named as defendants in a lawsuit that was filed against 97 different oil, gas and pipeline companies. After agreeing to settle for $50,000, Chroma Operating Inc. and White Oak Operating LLC were each dismissed from the claim.
