In recent years there may seem to be more drunken drivers on the road near Lake Charles, Louisiana than before. But, those drunken drivers are not under the influence of alcohol. Teen drivers in Lake Charles, Louisiana face the same task that other teenage drivers around Louisiana do - they have to learn how to drive from experience. Jury rules against drug companies in product liability case

Imagine you go to the hospital for a relatively simple outpatient procedure that is conducted to prevent future disease. You receive an anesthetic for the procedure but the vial containing the anesthetic is misused and wrongly packaged by the manufacturer. Because of the mistakes you walk away from the simple procedure with a blood-borne illness. Instead of the prevention of an illness you contract one. The story is similar to one man's in a product liability case involving a colonoscopy, a sedative and two drug companies.

Every year the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission releases a report on the number of car accidents and other motor vehicle accidents that occur in the state. Poor economy may contribute to lower drinking and driving numbers

Drinking and driving remains a major cause of car accidents in Louisiana. Even though drunken driving remains an issue in communities like Lake Charles, the overall number of drinking and driving incidents across the country has lowered over the last few years and the state of the economy may be a factor.

Environmental laws give landowners moment to pause on natural gas drilling leases

Landowners in rural, upstate New York have been given moment to pause over natural gas drilling leases thanks to environmental law. Over the last few years, many landowners entered into natural gas drilling leases with energy companies, but a number of the landowners signed the leases before learning about the possible negative environmental impact of hydrofracking. Thanks to environmental regulations landowners are reexamining their original positions.
