BP spill-business claims

We wanted to make you aware of your potential right to receive proceeds from the recent Class Action Settlement regarding the BP/Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill in 2010. According to the terms of the settlement, most businesses in the State of Louisiana may qualify for compensation if they experienced a decline in revenue in the latter part of 2010, as compared to the same periods in 2007-2009 and 2011.

This settlement applies to most businesses in Louisiana, regardless of how close to the coast they are located or whether they have evidence that they sustained direct damage from the spill. BP has agreed to a formula in which certain restrictions apply, and any claim must be supported by financial documents from your business. We have access to forensic CPAs who are assisting us with the business evaluations; however, we can work with your current CPA as well. As part of the settlement agreement, CPA fees can be reimbursed to the claimant.

You have nothing to lose by exploring whether you are entitled to compensation. We would be happy to assist you in the preparation and filing of your claim. If you would like more information about this settlement, or to find out if your business qualifies for compensation, please contact Michael Hodgkins at (337) 310-1600 or mgh@veronbice.com.
