D'Ann received an LLM with a concentration in Energy and Environmental Law from Tulane Law School in 2015. She graduated from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2012. While at Loyola, D'Ann was selected to join the Black Law Students' Association Moot Court Team. D'Ann is an associate attorney in the firm of Veron, Bice, Palermo & Wilson, LLC in Lake Charles. The firm handles environmental litigation, oil and gas litigation, serious personal injury and maritime law claims, and commercial litigation. She is a member of both the A.P. Tureaud Inn of Court and the Tulane Inn of Court. Prior to joining Veron, Bice, Palermo & Wilson, she clerked for four judges at the Civil District Court, Parish of Orleans from 2010-2014 and was an associate in Loulan Pitre's office in New Orleans.  She graduated, summa cum laude, with a Ph.D. in history from the University of California at Berkeley in 1995. In 2007, she exchanged the tranquility of work as a tenured history professor at the University of Memphis for the drama of high stakes litigation after researching a book on the impact of the Army Corps of Engineer's grossly negligent maintenance of the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet on historic, neighboring communities after Hurricane Katrina.
